Calgary-based Insight Counselling & Therapy Centre has spent more than 25 years making professional counselling more accessible through sliding-scale fees, subsidies, and community partnerships. Little Rock printed the invitations for their recent Annual General Meeting, helping the organization celebrate a major milestone with the community and partners who support its work.
"Our counsellors provide trauma-informed, client-centred therapy for individuals experiencing a broad range of mental health concerns, life transitions, and personal challenges. Unlike many programs that are limited to short-term interventions, Insight offers long-term counselling with no predetermined session limit, allowing therapy to progress at a pace that best supports each individual's goals and healing.
In addition to services at our counselling centre, Insight partners with community organizations like RISE Calgary, Calgary John Howard Society, and Accessible Housing, to bring mental health support directly into trusted community settings. This community-based approach helps reduce barriers to care and makes it easier for people to access support where they already feel connected.
As a small charity, we have to embrace technology to maximize our impact while keeping costs low. By leveraging secure digital systems alongside tools such as Canva and generative AI, we streamline administration, create educational resources, develop social media content, strengthen community engagement, and support efficient communication, allowing our team to devote more time and resources to direct client care.
As a teaching centre, Insight also plays an important role in training the next generation of counsellors through closely supervised graduate practicum placements. By combining high-quality clinical care, affordable access, community partnerships, and thoughtful innovation, Insight is helping build a healthier, more connected community for today and for the future.
