Calgary startup Happi Sauce is turning a family dressing recipe into a growing local food brand. Little Rock’s high-quality, small-quantity printing helps them create professional market materials without committing to huge orders, giving the young brand a polished presence as it introduces Happi Sauce to more customers.
"Happi Sauce is a small Calgary food startup built around a dressing my family has been making for years. The recipe originally came from my Swiss mom and was one of those things that was always on the table growing up. Friends and family kept asking for it, so eventually we decided to see if we could turn it into something more.
That became Happi Sauce: a bright, creamy, tangy, savoury dressing that we're now introducing to people beyond our own kitchen.
A big part of getting Happi Sauce off the ground has been figuring out how to make a very small startup look and feel like a legitimate food brand from day one. That's where Little Rock has been really useful for us.
You've printed a number of the pieces we've needed to bring the brand into the real world, particularly as we've started selling Happi Sauce at local markets. Having access to high-quality printing in relatively small quantities means we can create professional materials without having to order thousands of pieces before we know exactly what we need.
As a Creative Director at an advertising agency by day, I've also been able to build the Happi Sauce brand myself, from the identity and packaging to photography, social content and marketing materials. So I know quality when I see it.
We're still very early in the Happi Sauce story, but seeing the bottles, signage and printed materials all come together at a market has been one of those moments where an idea suddenly starts to feel like a real business.."
