Calgary-based Afrofresh creates natural personal-care products inspired by African ingredients, culture, and connection to nature. Founder Eshetu Tekie uses product cards, business cards, signage, packaging, and other printed materials to tell that story clearly and create a consistent brand experience at markets and community events.
"Developing the product was only one part of the journey. As a small business, presentation is extremely important. Customers often see the packaging, product cards, business cards, signage, and other printed materials before they ever have a chance to try the product.
That is where professional printing has made a real difference for Afrofresh. The printed materials help us present the brand professionally, communicate our story, explain our products and ingredients, and create a consistent experience for customers at markets and community events. Good-quality printing helps turn an idea created by a small local business into something customers can recognize, remember, and trust.
Afrofresh is continuing to grow, and we are now preparing to participate in larger community events, including ReggaeFest 2026 in Calgary on August 28 and 29. Events like this make professional printed materials even more important because they help us stand out, connect with new customers, and tell the story behind the brand in a busy market environment.
I have also been using new technology throughout the development of Afrofresh—from product and brand development to creating marketing concepts, social media content, and visual materials. Combining digital tools with professionally printed materials has allowed me to build the brand step by step while working with the resources available to a small business."
