Frequently Asked Questions about Calendars
Can You Design My Desktop Calendar For Me?
As a print shop, we don’t have in-house design services—but we do have a library of free desktop calendar templates you can use to make your design for free on Canva! Learn how to make your print-ready design in a few short steps with our guide on Using Canva to Design your Own Calendar.
Do I Need a Desktop Calendar or a Wall Calendar?
It’s up to you—but different types of calendars work best for specific situations. For example:
- Desktop calendars are best for quick reminders and are easy to set up on flat surfaces in smaller spaces, since they’re designed to stand upright and are more compact than wall calendars. Since they take up less room, you’ll want to focus more on logos and text than on large images when designing them.
- Wall calendars are better for listing more events or to-dos, and are best for vertical surfaces with more room, since they hang flat. They also give you more room to add visuals to your design, so consider this option if your calendar is going to have more pictures or graphics.
What Kind of Paper Should I Print My Desktop Calendar On?
We get it—knowing what kind of paper to use for your desktop calendar can be difficult without being able to see and feel it up close, so here’s what we recommend:
- Order a free paper sample kit from us—this includes small portions of all the materials we offer at Little Rock, including paper, stickers, poster and poster board, and banner fabric.
- Once you have an idea of what you’d like to use from our calendar, get a free proof by placing an order for a single desktop calendar with us and using the code “FREEPROOF” at checkout—we’ll send you one unit of your design so you can verify that everything is right before ordering more.
How Should I Send My Design Files?
For best results, send us a hi-res PDF with:
- ⅛” bleed
- Outlined fonts
- CMYK colors (use Spot PMS instead if trying to print Pantone colors)
If your design requires specific colors, we strongly recommend ordering a proof before printing in volume.
Where Does Little Rock Printing™ Ship To?
